EUSR training in Dorset, from our Blandford centre

Dorset crews do not have to leave the county for an EUSR card. We run all four courses at our training centre in Blandford, or at your own site.

The centre is in Blandford, where the A350 and A354 meet, so teams can reach it from Poole and Bournemouth on the coast or from Dorchester and Weymouth to the south-west.

Each course covers the theory and then the practical. On successful completion every delegate receives an accredited EUSR card listing their completed categories, valid for three years.

Locating services and digging safely across Dorset

Dorset has two highway authorities: Dorset Council for most of the county, and BCP Council for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. Whichever authority’s road you are opening, the risk from buried cables and pipes is the same.

CAT 1 and CAT 2 deal with that risk in order: locate the utility services with the CAT & Genny, then break ground safely around them. The method is the same on a seafront footway in Bournemouth or Weymouth as on a rural verge outside Blandford.
